Nagaon - There is Romance in the Air Here!!

Nagaon is just 8 Kms from the Alibaug bus depot and 25 Kms from Kashid making Nagaon an ideal place to stay to explore this region of Konkan. There are many beautiful temples historic forts and lot many interesting spots to explore during a holiday in Nagaon.

Nagaon is a really long stretch of beach and if you are staying close to the beach a long walk on the beach early in the morning is warranted. The north end of Nagaon beach extends seamlessly onto Akshi beach known for its rich avian population.

Nagaon is a beach destination ideal to just relax and enjoy a quiet weekend however Nagaon is slowly establishing itself as a destination for water sports enthusiasts. You will find many water rides in Nagaon along with boating and parasailing on the beach.

Apart from the beaches and water sports, the forts and temples near Nagaon are the major tourist attraction. The Kulaba fort just off the Alibaug coast, 8 kms from Nagaon probably is the most visited fort near Nagaon. Kulaba fort can be reached on foot via a small strip of land which surfaces during low tides. Murud Janjira about an hour away from Nagaon is also worth a visit if you are on a long holiday in Nagaon

Apart from the Birla mandir at salaav which probably is the most visited temple near Nagaon, Rameshwar temple located in Chaul about 10 kms from Nagaon is also very popular. Rameshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva built in the Hemadpant style of architechture.
